Promoting Reading & STEM Education

The Group promotes reading and STEM education among youth people to support their growth, with a particular focus on innovation and technology.
Recognizing the importance of cultivating a love for reading from an early age, SHKP has launched several initiatives to encourage reading among young people. The Read to Dream programme, established in 2008, exemplifies this commitment. Since its inception, it has sponsored over 30,000 underprivileged students to visit the Hong Kong Book Fair, providing them with allowances to purchase books they like and organizing on-site activities to promote reading.

In addition, the SHKP Reading Club, founded in 2013, promotes reading among the public – especially students and young people – through different activities and the Read For More free online reading platform. In recent years, the Club has stepped up its efforts to promote STEM education through school outreach activities that deepen secondary students’ understanding of our country’s advancements in innovation and technology.
